“We’re all about the creation and operation of restaurants and establishments that make all the people around us happy through unique value.”
Founding Partner for Creative Development
Graduating with a Management degree, Abba continued her studies at the renowned French Culinary Institute in New York, taking up Restaurant Management and Culinary Techniques. At the age of 22, she developed an in-house franchise model and privately labelled skincare brand for her first retail venture, achieving a distribution network of over 25 points of presence strong. Three years later she co-founded the Tropical Retail Company, one of the Philippines’ largest retailers of casual footwear today. The F&B industry, however, is where she is most at home. She started off with running a family-owned business, which happened to be the country’s most established Italian restaurant group, L’Opera. At TMG, Abba drives the innovation and incubation of the group’s ground breaking restaurants and collaborations, creating concepts and menus that add variety, texture and something wholly unique to the dining scene.
Founding & Managing Partner
Eliza Antonino is no stranger to the Food and Beverage industry. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, she then went to the famed Four Seasons Hotel in New York where she earned her pedigree as part of the hotel’s operations team. Since venturing into the industry at the early age of 21, she has owned and operated numerous restaurants spanning well beyond 14 years. Although heavily involved in the F&B industry, her credentials extend way beyond it as well. She has spent the last decade heavily involved in the government sector, effecting change in different ways. This was until she was persuaded in late 2011 by Jon & Abba to return to the private sector and effect change in the country’s burgeoning F&B scene, her true passion. Though she still serves on the Board of Directors of some of the country’s most influential political and publicly-listed organizations, her most pivotal role is as the Managing Partner of TMG where she is its driving force and the woman ensuring the group’s culture, structure & profitability.
Founding Partner for Business Development
Raised in a family background of international F&B franchising and management, including 7-UP™, RC Cola® and Dairy Queen®, it’s no surprise that Jon Syjuco definitely knows his food management business. At only 19 years old, he founded Burger Joint in Cebu, a “make-your-own burger” brand that grew into a three-store chain. Jon also co-owns Terry S.A., a leading fashion distribution and brand company in the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia that boasts of a regional network of over 50 mono-stores, 8 sub-distributor partners and over 150 points of sale. He also worked as a Strategy Consultant for KPMG, one of the largest professional services companies in the world. Jon takes charge of TMG’s Business Development, working on collaborations and synergies, creating new growth opportunities, as well as securing the amazing real estate that our establishments are found in.
